A class that goes over the basics of making a simple semi-sweet concord grape wine using inexpensive materials. Concepts of fermentation, sterilization, racking, air-locks, etc... will be covered. Class may or may not include production of wine on-site by members depending on necessary board approval. Once started the wine will need a physical place to be left undisturbed for at least a month.

Wine making made easy

basic idea

obtain sweet liquid let yeast partially eat it yeast poop alcohol til they die ???? Profit! (costs)

Materials

grape, apple, blackberry, etc... juice (the more the merrier) sugar (~1lb per gal of juice) yeast (bakers vs wine) vessel (bucket, bottle, bin, or bag) air lock warmth time bottles (eventually)

Process

sterilize materials put juice in bottle put sugar in bottle "wake up" yeast mix mix mix place on air lock wait 3 months

Racking

another bottle, some tubing, and some suction sweeter with time...

Bottling

~4-6mos moar siphoning heads, tails, and body

aging, fining, & vinegar

Aging (best 6-9mos) fining and other addatives vinegar
