Old Freeside had one major advantage over new Freeside when it came to facility buildout: The landlord was very hands-off and didn't seem to be bothered with building permits and the like. By way of that small fact, Old Freeside had a second story with a crafting loft and a rather dubious attic space. The attic area had pipes and cables all over the place, likely TOO MUCH stuff loaded up there at various points, and there was at least one incident where someone put their foot through the ceiling of the room below when they stepped where there was no plywood to support them. OOPS. Someone eventually put a poster over the hole in the ceiling and all was well.
