Built sometime in the mid to late 1930s, this Reid 2A surface grinder is almost as old as this wiki. Due to its age it requires its drive belt to be loosened for the motor to spin up. Despite its foibles, it is still the most accurate machine tool in the shop, grinding surfaces flat to within .0003 over 6 sqin.
